The Legal Aid Committee of the School of Legal Studies, Jigyasa University, organized a meaningful outreach Legal Aid Camp at Bhoksa primary School , on 26th October 2024 in Sherpur village, focused on raising legal awareness and supporting community empowerment.
The event was attended by notable figures, including the Village Pradhan, Mrs. Nazrana Naaz; Vice Pradhan, Mrs. Sangeeta; the Principal of the Government School ,Prof ( Dr.) B.S. Nagendra Parashar, Vice Chancellor of Jigyasa University; and prof. ( Dr.) Shalini Bahuguna Bachheti, Dean of the School of Legal Studies. The presence of university faculty members, local villagers, and students further underscored the shared commitment to community development.
A central part of the event was a Nukkad Natak (street play) performed by Legal Aid Committee members. The play tackled pressing issues, including property possession, domestic violence, and rape, simplifying complex legal topics to make them more accessible for the local audience. The community's engagement and responses highlighted the impact of this interactive approach in fostering legal awareness.
counseling session provided an open platform for the villagers to seek guidance on their rights and resources for assistance.
Jigyasa University also distributed dustbins and street lights to the Pradhan for the progress of the students of the school.
This outreach event showcased Jigyasa University’s dedication to social justice and the empowerment of rural communities, reinforcing the impact of its Legal Aid Committee's efforts in promoting awareness and support among underserved populations.
